I have a drainfield, do I need to pump my tank?

YES!! (A septic system, just like a car, it must be properly operated and maintained to ensure long-term, cost effective service.)

How often should I pump my tank?

Yearly: if you have a garbage disposal!

How big is my tank?

Typically 1000 GALLONS OR LESS unless your system was designed for 5 bedrooms or more.

What should I do to prepare for winter?

• Mark your tank with a lath or 5 gallon pail.
• Let the grass grow long over the drainfield area.
• Keep traffic off of the drainfield area.
• Fix anything that drips water, faucets, toilets, & furnaces.
• Replace any broken caps on the tank or drainfield.

I have an older system, is it "Grandfathered in?"

Typically not, If the system is over 30 years old, it probably needs to be upgraded.

Emergency service is available evenings, weekends and holidays.
